But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me,
and my Lord has forgotten me.”
“Can a woman forget her nursing child,
and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget,
yet I will not forget you.
See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.
“Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations, and set up My standard for the peoples; They shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders; Kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers; All flesh shall know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.” Isaiah 49:14-17,22,23,26
‘Therefore do not fear, o My servant Jacob,’ says the LORD, ‘ nor be dismayed, O Israel; For behold, I will save you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity.
Jacob shall return, have rest and be quiet,
and no one shall make him afraid.
For I am with you,’ says the LORD, ‘to save you; For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,’ says the LORD, ‘ because they called you an outcast saying: “This is Zion; No one seeks her.”‘
“The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness-
Israel, when I went to give him rest.”
The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you. Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt, o virgin of Israel! You shall again be adorned with your tambourines, and shall go forth in the dances of those who rejoice. Jeremiah 30:10,11,17/31:2-4
“Therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “that it shall no more be said, ‘The Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,’ but, ‘The Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.’ For I will bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers.
Behold, I will bring them from the north country, And gather them from the ends of the earth, Among them the blind and the lame, The woman with child And the one who labors with child, together; A great throng shall return there. They shall come with weeping, And with supplications I will lead them. I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters, In a straight way in which they shall not stumble; For I am a Father to Israel, And Ephraim is My firstborn.
They shall be My people, and I will be their God; then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them. And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me. Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.’ “For thus says the Lord: ‘Just as I have brought all this great calamity on this people, so I will bring on them all the good that I have promised them. Jeremiah 16:15/31:8,9/32:38-42
Since you were precious in My sight,
you have been honored, and I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, and people for your life. Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, and gather you from the west; I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, and My daughters from the ends of the earth— I, even I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no savior.
“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it? This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise. Isaiah 43:4-6,11,18,19,21
For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem;
You shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; When He hears it, He will answer you.
Like birds flying about, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem.
Defending, He will also deliver it;
Passing over, He will preserve it.”
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name; You are Mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.
For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
“Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old, together; For I will turn their mourning to joy, I will comfort them,
and make them rejoice rather than sorrow. Isaiah 30:19/31:5/43:1-3/Jeremiah 31:13
the King of Glory
The earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness,
the world and those who dwell therein.
For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters.
Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD?
Or who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive blessing from the LORD,
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face.
Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Psalm 24
The Lord will roar
The LORD also will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; The heavens and earth will shake; But the LORD will be a shelter for His people, and the strength of the children of Israel. “So you shall know that I am the LORD your God, dwelling in Zion My holy mountain. Then Jerusalem shall be holy, and no aliens shall ever pass through her again.”
And it will come to pass in that day that the mountains shall drip with new wine, the hills shall flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water; A fountain shall flow from the house of the LORD and water the Valley of Acacias.
But Judah shall abide forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. Then the LORD will be zealous for His land, and pity His people.
The LORD will answer and say to His people, “Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil, and you will be satisfied by them; I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations. Joel 3:16-18,20,21/2:18,19
Roar of the Seas
Woe to the multitude of many people who make a noise like the roar of the seas, and to the rushing of nations that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters! The nations will rush like the rushing of many waters; But God will rebuke them and they will flee far away, and be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, like a rolling thing before the whirlwind. Now also many nations have gathered against you, who say, “Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion.”
But they do not know the thoughts of the LORD, nor do they understand His counsel.
The nations shall see and be ashamed of all their might; They shall put their hand over their mouth; Their ears shall be deaf.
They shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of You.
Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage?
He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities.
You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. You will give truth to Jacob and mercy to Abraham, which You have sworn to our fathers
from days of old. Isaiah 17:12,13/Micha 4:11,12/ 7:16-20
Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us.”
He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
and distress them in His deep displeasure:
“Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.”
Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
Psalm 2:1-6, 10-12
Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful. Praise the LORD with the harp; Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings. Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy. For the word of the LORD is right, and all His work is done in truth.
He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD. By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.
Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy, to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name. Let Your mercy, o LORD, be upon us, just as we hope in You. Psalm 33:1-11,18-22
Spirit of Grace
It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. And the land shall mourn, every family by itself.
And in that day it shall be that living waters shall flow from Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward the western sea; In both summer and winter it shall occur. And the LORD shall be King over all the earth.
In that day it shall be—
“The LORD is one,”
And His name is one. Zechariah 12:9-11/14:8,9
Come, let us Return
Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.
After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight.
Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth.
“Yet hear me now, O Jacob My servant, and Israel whom I have chosen.
Thus says the LORD who made you and formed you from the womb, who will help you:
‘ Fear not, O Jacob My servant; And you, Jeshurun, (Israel) whom I have chosen.
For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring. Hosea 1-3/Isaiah 44:1-3
Restore Israel, o God
LORD, You have been favorable to Your land;
You have brought back the captivity of Jacob.
You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people;
You have covered all their sin. You have taken away all Your wrath; You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger.
Restore us, O God of our salvation, and cause Your anger toward us to cease. Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger to all generations? Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?
Show us Your mercy, LORD, and grant us Your salvation.
Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land.
Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
Yes, the LORD will give what is good; And our land will yield its increase.
Righteousness will go before Him, and shall make His footsteps our pathway. Psalm 85:1-7,9,11-13
God will bring Healing
Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth. And I will cause the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel to return, and will rebuild those places as at the first. I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me. Then it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise, and an honor before all nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them; they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and all the prosperity that I provide for it.’
Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity
and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage?
He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy.
He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities.
You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. Jeremiah 33:6-9/Micha 7:18,19
Thus says the LORD: “The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness — Israel, when I went to give him rest.” The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you. Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt, o virgin of Israel! You shall again be adorned with your tambourines, and shall go forth in the dances of those who rejoice. You shall yet plant vines on the mountains of Samaria; The planters shall plant and eat them as ordinary food. For there shall be a day when the watchmen will cry on Mount Ephraim, ‘arise, and let us go up [to] Zion, To the LORD our God.’ ” For thus says the LORD: “Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations; Proclaim, give praise, and say, ‘O LORD, save Your people, the remnant of Israel!’
They shall come with weeping, and with supplications I will lead them. I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they shall not stumble; for I am a Father to Israel, And Ephraim is My firstborn.
Turn back, o virgin of Israel, turn back to these your cities. How long will you gad about, o you backsliding daughter? For the LORD has created a new thing in the earth — A woman shall encompass a man.” Jeremiah 31:2-7,9,21,22
Great is the Lord
Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain. Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
Walk about Zion, and go all around her. Count her towers; Mark well her bulwarks; Consider her palaces; That you may tell it to the generation following. For this is God, Our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to death.
Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people from this time forth and forever. Psalm 48:1,2,25-15/125:1,2
NEVER BE SILENT
Awake! Why do You sleep, o Lord? Arise! Do not cast us (Israel) off forever. Why do You hide Your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression? For our soul is bowed down to the dust; Our body clings to the ground. Arise for our help, and redeem us for Your mercies’ sake.
For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns.
I have set watchmen on your walls, o Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; Build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones. Psalm 44:23-26/Isaiah 62:1,6,7,10
Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You: The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites;
As the fire burns the woods, and as the flame sets the mountains on fire, so pursue them with Your tempest, and frighten them with Your storm. Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, o LORD. Let them be confounded and dismayed forever; Yes, let them be put to shame and perish, that they may know that You, whose name alone is the LORD, are the Most High over all the earth. Psalm 83:1-7, 14-19
” Remember these, o Jacob, and Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you, you are My servant; O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me! I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions, and like a cloud, your sins.
Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.”
Sing, O heavens, for the LORD has done it! Shout, you lower parts of the earth; Break forth into singing, you mountains, o forest, and every tree in it! For the LORD has redeemed Jacob, and glorified Himself in Israel.
Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure,’ Isaiah 44:21-23/ 46:9,10
‘Let my eyes flow with tears night and day, and let them not cease; For the virgin daughter of my people has been broken with a mighty stroke, with a very severe blow.’
Have You utterly rejected Judah? Has Your soul loathed Zion? Why have You stricken us so that there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but there was no good; And for the time of healing, and there was trouble. We acknowledge, o LORD, our wickedness and the iniquity of our fathers, for we have sinned against You. Do not abhor us, for Your name’s sake; Do not disgrace the throne of Your glory.
Remember, do not break Your covenant with us. Are there any among the idols of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Are You not He, o LORD our God? Therefore we will wait for You, since You have made all these. Jeremiah 14:17, 19-22
I am Zealous for Jerusalem
So the angel who spoke with me said to me, “proclaim, saying, ‘thus says the LORD of hosts: “I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great zeal. I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; For I was a little angry, and they helped — but with evil intent.” ‘Therefore thus says the LORD: “I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy;
The LORD will again comfort Zion, and will again choose Jerusalem.”
“Heap it up! Heap it up! Prepare the way, take the stumbling block out of the way of My people.” For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry; Zechariah 1:14-16,17b/Isaiah 57:14-16
” On that day I will raise up The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old; That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the Gentiles who are called by My name,” says the LORD who does this thing. “Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “when the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; The mountains shall drip with sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it.
I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; They shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them,” Says the LORD your God. Amos 9: 11-15
“Run, speak to this young man, saying: ‘Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it. ‘For I,’ says the LORD, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’ ”
Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Zechariah 2:4,5/ Revelation 21:1-4
“I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I [am] the LORD.”
“Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
“I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it and performed it,” says the LORD.’
‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; “and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again.”They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. Then they shall be My people, and I will be their God. Ezekiel 37:6,12,14,21-23
“On that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old.”
” I will surely assemble all of you, o Jacob, I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together like sheep of the fold, like a flock in the midst of their pasture; They shall make a loud noise because of so many people.” Amos 9:11,14,15/Micha 2:12
“My tabernacle also shall be with them; indeed I will be their God, and they shall be My people. “The nations also will know that I, the LORD, sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forevermore.”
‘And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,’ says the Lord GOD.”
“Therefore, behold, I will allure her, will bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfort to her. I will give her her vineyards from there, and the Valley of Achor as a door of hope; She shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, as in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt. “And it shall be, in that day,” says the LORD, “That you will call Me ‘My Husband,’ and no longer call Me ‘My Master.’
“I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy; I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, and you shall know the LORD.
I will not execute the fierceness of My anger; I will not again destroy Ephraim. For I am God, and not man, the Holy One in your midst; And I will not come with terror. Ezekiel 37:27, 39:29/Hosea 2:14-16, 19,20/11:9
“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.
I will bring the one-third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’; And each one will say, ‘The LORD is my God.’ ”
“They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “on the day that I make them My jewels.
And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.”
For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,’ says the LORD, ‘because they called you an outcast saying: “This is Zion; No one seeks her.” ‘
‘And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me.
‘Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.’ ” For thus says the LORD: ‘Just as I have brought all this great calamity on this people, so I will bring on them all the good that I have promised them. Zech.12:10/13:9/Mal.3:17/Jer.30:17/32:41, 42
“I will accept you as a sweet aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you have been scattered; and I will be hallowed in you before the Gentiles.
‘Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth. ‘And I will cause the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel to return, and will rebuild those places as at the first. ‘I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me.
“On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will also enable you to dwell in the cities, and the ruins shall be rebuilt. “The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass by. “So they will say, ‘this land that was desolate has become like the Garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate, and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’
“I will also let the house of Israel inquire of Me to do this for them: I will increase their men like a flock. “Like a flock offered as holy sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem on its feast days, so shall the ruined cities be filled with flocks of men. Then they shall know that I am the LORD.” ‘ ” Ezekiel 20:41/Jer.33:6-8/Ezekiel 36:33-38
Israel, Gods Child
“When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called My son. As they called them, so they went from them; They sacrificed to the Baals, and burned incense to carved images. “I taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by their arms; But they did not know that I healed them. I drew them with gentle cords, with bands of love.
“How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? My heart churns within Me; My sympathy is stirred. I will not execute the fierceness of My anger; I will not again destroy Ephraim. For I am God, and not man, The Holy One in your midst; And I will not come with terror.
Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a pleasant child? For though I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him,” says the LORD.
O Israel, return to the LORD your God, for you have stumbled because of your iniquity; Take words with you, and return to the LORD. Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, for we will offer the sacrifices of our lips. Assyria shall not save us, we will not ride on horses, nor will we say anymore to the work of our hands, ‘you are our gods.’ For in You the fatherless finds mercy.” Hosea 11:1-4,89,11/Jer.31:20/Hosea 14:2-4
“For a mere moment I have forsaken you, but with great mercies I will gather you. With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,” says the LORD, your Redeemer.
For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has mercy on you.
Because they were unfaithful to Me, therefore I hid My face from them. I gave them into the hand of their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.
You will arise [and] have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come.
“Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Now I will bring back the captives of Jacob, and have mercy on the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name – Isaiah 54:7,8,10/Ezekiel 39:22,23,25/Psalm 102:13
Sing, o Daughter
“For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, that they all may call on the name of the LORD, to serve Him with one accord. From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia My worshipers, the daughter of My dispersed ones, shall bring My offering. In that day you shall not be shamed for any of your deeds in which you transgress against Me.”
Sing, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, o daughter of Jerusalem! The LORD has taken away your judgments; He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst; You shall see disaster no more. In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: “Do not fear; Zion, let not your hands be weak. The LORD your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” I will gather those who sorrow over the appointed assembly, who are among you, to whom its reproach is a burden. Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you; I will save the lame, and gather those who were driven out; I will appoint them for praise and fame In every land where they were put to shame. At that time I will bring you back, even at the time I gather you; For I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I return your captives before your eyes,” says the LORD. Zephaniah 3:9-11, 14-20
Come, Save Us
Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who dwell between the cherubim, shine forth! Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, stir up Your strength, and come and save us! Restore us (Israel), O God; Cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved! O LORD God of hosts, how long will You be angry against the prayer of Your people? You have fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in great measure. You have made us a strife to our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves. Restore us, O God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved!
Revive us, and we will call upon Your name. Restore us, o LORD God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved! Psalm 80:1-8, 18,19
‘Return, backsliding Israel,’ says the LORD; ‘I will not cause My anger to fall on you.
For I am merciful,’ says the LORD; ‘I will not remain angry forever.
“Return, O backsliding children,” says the LORD; “for I am married to you. I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.
” And I said: ‘You shall call Me, “My Father,” And not turn away from Me.’ Surely, as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so have you dealt treacherously with Me, o house of Israel,” says the LORD.
“Return, you backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings.”
“Indeed we do come to You, for You are the LORD our God. Truly, in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains; Truly, in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel. Jeremiah 3:12,14,19,20,22,23
A New Heart
“And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, ‘O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD!
O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are about to come. “For indeed I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown. I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt. I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bear young; I will make you inhabited as in former times, and do better for you than at your beginnings. Then you shall know that I am the LORD.
Yes, I will cause men to walk on you, My people Israel; they shall take possession of you, and you shall be their inheritance. ”
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God. ” Ezekiel 36:1,8-11,26-28
Listen to Me
“Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were hewn. Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, and blessed him and increased him.” For the LORD will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; Joy and gladness will be found in it, thanksgiving and the voice of melody. “Listen to Me, My people; and give ear to Me, o My nation: For law will proceed from Me, and I will make My justice rest as a light of the peoples. My righteousness is near, My salvation has gone forth, and My arms will judge the peoples; The coastlands will wait upon Me, and on My arm they will trust.
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath. For the heavens will vanish away like smoke, the earth will grow old like a garment, and those who dwell in it will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, and My righteousness will not be abolished.
“Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, you people in whose heart is My law: Do not fear the reproach of men, nor be afraid of their insults. My righteousness will be forever, and My salvation from generation to generation.” Isaiah 51:1-8
“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
“Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.
For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring; They will spring up among the grass like willows by the watercourses.’
He sends out His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow. Isaiah 55:10,11/44:3/Ezekiel 36:25/Psalm 147:18
Awake, awake, put on strength, o arm of the LORD! Awake as in the ancient days, in the generations of old.
Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, o God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones. they have said, “come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, hat the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”
This You have seen, o LORD; Do not keep silence. O Lord, do not be far from me. Stir up Yourself, and awake to my vindication, to my cause, my God and my Lord. Vindicate me, o LORD my God, according to Your righteousness; And let them not rejoice over me. Isaiah 51:9/Psalm 83:1-5, Psalm 35:22-24
Awake, awake! Stand up, o Jerusalem, you who have drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of His fury; You have drunk the dregs of the cup of trembling, and drained it out.
Who will be sorry for you? — Desolation and destruction, famine and sword — By whom will I comfort you?
Thus says your Lord, The LORD and your God, Who pleads the cause of His people: “See, I have taken out of your hand the cup of trembling, the dregs of the cup of My fury; You shall no longer drink it. But I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, who have said to you, ‘lie down, that we may walk over you.’ And you have laid your body like the ground, and as the street, for those who walk over.”
Awake, awake! Put on your strength, o Zion; Put on your beautiful garments, o Jerusalem, the holy city! For the uncircumcised and the unclean shall no longer come to you. Shake yourself from the dust, arise; Sit down, o Jerusalem! Loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion! Isaiah 51:17,19,22,23/52:1,2
“Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘o dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! ‘Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.”
Also He said to me, “prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘thus says the Lord GOD: “Come from the four winds, o breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”
Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’ “Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.”Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, o My people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it and performed it,” says the LORD. Ezekiel 37:4-6,9,11-14
Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you — The former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.
“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.
You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God and there is no other.
My people shall never be put to shame.
And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the remnant whom the LORD calls. Joel 2:23-27,23
“Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘I am zealous for Zion with great zeal; With great fervor I am zealous for her.’ “Thus says the LORD: ‘I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, the Mountain of the LORD of hosts, the Holy Mountain.’ “Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Old men and old women shall again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each one with his staff in his hand Because of great age. The streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.’ Joel 3:16,17/Zechariah 8:2-5
For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place: “This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it. I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread.
I will also clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
“Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” says the LORD. “Many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you. “And the LORD will take possession of Judah as His inheritance in the Holy Land, and will again choose Jerusalem. Psalm 132:13-18/Zechariah 2:10-12
Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.” Then the LORD said to me, “you have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.”
The LORD will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended. Also your people shall all be righteous; They shall inherit the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified. A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation. I, the LORD, will hasten it in its time.”
Make haste, o God, to deliver me! Make haste to help me, O LORD!
Make haste to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, do not delay.
Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Jeremiah 1:11.12/Isaiah 60:20-23/Psalm 70:1,6/2 Peter 3:11-13
Weeping and Laughter
When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing.
Then they said among the nations, “the LORD has done great things for them.” The LORD has done great things for us, and we are glad.
Bring back our captivity, o LORD, as the streams in the South. Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.
He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm 126
And in that day you will say: “O LORD, I will praise You; Though You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me.
Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For YAH, the LORD, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’ ”
Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. And in that day you will say: “Praise the LORD, call upon His name; Declare His deeds among the peoples, make mention that His name is exalted.
Sing to the LORD, for He has done excellent things; This is known in all the earth.
Cry out and shout, o inhabitant of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst!” Isaiah 12
“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the LORD’s hand Double for all her sins.”
For the LORD will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; Joy and gladness will be found in it, thanksgiving and the voice of melody.
And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations.
Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs. Isaiah 40:1,2/51:3/61:4,7
You will Arise
You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come. For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and show favor to her dust. So the nations shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth Your glory. For the LORD shall build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory.
He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, and shall not despise their prayer.
This will be written for the (last) generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD.
For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary; From heaven the LORD viewed the earth, to hear the groaning of the prisoner, to release those appointed to death, to declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and His praise in Jerusalem. Psalm 102:13-21
a Holy People
” For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.
“The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; “but because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
“Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments. Deuteronomy 7:6-9
Peace of Jerusalem
I was glad when they said to me, “let us go into the house of the LORD.”
Our feet have been standing within your gates, o Jerusalem!
Jerusalem is built as a city that is compact together, where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, to the testimony of Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD.
For thrones are set there for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.”
For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, “peace be within you.”
Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek your good. Psalm 122:1-7
” But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, he descendants of Abraham My friend.
You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest regions, and said to you, ‘you are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away:
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘fear not, I will help you.’
” Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I will help you,” says the LORD and your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 41: 8-10,13,14
” If you should say in your heart, ‘these nations are greater than I; how can I dispossess them?’ — “you shall not be afraid of them, but you shall remember well what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt: “the great trials which your eyes saw, the signs and the wonders, the mighty hand and the outstretched arm, by which the LORD your God brought you out. So shall the LORD your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid.
“You shall not be terrified of them; for the LORD your God, the great and awesome God, is among you.
‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; ‘for the LORD your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.'” Deuteronomy 7:17-19,21/20:3,4
On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates –”
Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD! Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore! Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth,
o seed of Abraham His servant, you children of Jacob, His chosen ones!
He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth. He remembers His covenant forever, the word which He commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac, and confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, saying, “to you I will give the land of Canaan as the allotment of your inheritance.” Genesis 15:18/Psalm 105:1-11
I lift up my Soul
To You, o LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You; Let Israel not be ashamed; Let not her enemies triumph over Israel.
Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause. Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day. Remember, o LORD, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses, for they are from of old.
For Your name’s sake, O LORD, Pardon my iniquity, for it is great. Who is the man that fears the LORD? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. He himself shall dwell in prosperity, and his descendants shall inherit the earth.
The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant. My eyes are ever toward the LORD, for He shall pluck my feet out of the net. Turn Yourself to Israel, and have mercy on her, for she is desolate and afflicted.
The troubles of her heart have enlarged; Bring Israel out of her distresses! Look on her affliction and her pain, and forgive all her sins. Consider her enemies, for they are many; and they hate Israel with cruel hatred.
Keep my soul, and deliver me; Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You. Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for You.
Redeem Israel, O God, Out of all their troubles! Psalm 25, edited
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
Your watchmen shall lift up their voices, with their voices they shall sing together; For they shall see eye to eye when the LORD brings back Zion.
Break forth into joy, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem!
For the LORD has comforted His people, He has redeemed Jerusalem.
The LORD has made bare His holy arm In the eyes of all the nations; And all the ends of the earth shall see The salvation of our God. Isaiah 52:7-10
I say then, has God cast away His people (Israel)? Certainly not!
I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles.
And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches.
But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.
Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Romans 11:1,11,17,28

“The LORD bless you and keep you;

The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” Numbers 6:22-26
